Head south east toward The Coromandel Peninsula, Aucklanders’ favourite weekend retreat. Explore both sides of the Coromandel Peninsula before returning to Auckland via the rugged forest scenery of The Pinnacles.
Take this seven day Auckland to Waitomo Caves loop for the best places to see and best things to do — like beaches, hot springs, native forest and glowworms.
Head north from Auckland and along the Whangaparaoa Peninsula before travelling to Whangarei. Cross to the West Coast and up to Cape Reinga at the very top of New Zealand. Return via the lovely island-studded East Coast.
Drive south-east to the Coromandel Peninsula, then around the east coast to Gisborne and the Hawke’s Bay. Return through the central North Island taking in many famous places such as Rotorua, Waitomo and Raglan.
