So you’re not ready for a full size motorhome but you also don’t want to compromise on the big bed? The compact plus has the drivability of our other compact models but also the biggest bed in our compact range (in king configuration). Plus there’s no need to climb over your travel buddy to get up at night.
At just under 6.7 metres, this motorhome handles like a car - with a whole lot more creature comforts! The dual bed configurations are perfect for those who prefer two single beds or a couple who value the space of a king bed. Unlike the corner bed in our other compact models, there’s no need to climb over your travel buddy to get up at night. If you’re a travelling family, baby can co-sleep with parents.
Every Wilderness motorhome is a premium German designed and manufactured vehicle suitable for travel in all seasons. Each comes fitted with double-glazed windows, full insulation, heating, air conditioning in the cab, roof vents and latched windows with insect screens.

Highlights • Your choice of one large bed or twin beds • Drivability of the Compact Plus |
Longer than our Compact for 2 but still relatively short in length, the two berth Compact Plus motorhome features a significantly bigger bed — when set up as a king size.
However, if you and your travel partner prefer twin beds rather than a single king, this layout is also possible with benefits like:
If you intend to travel with your spouse or partner and like the idea of having a large bed to stretch out into and recharge every night, the Compact Plus is a great choice. The large bed fits because it’s located in the rear of the motorhome and spans from one side wall to the other.
Compare the Compact Plus with our other motorhome models to be sure you’re making the right choice.
This was our very first time using a motorhome. Wilderness made our experience easy and we left confident knowing we were in good hands.
We hired the Compact Plus that suited my wife and I. As a 6'4" tall bloke, I had no issues standing inside the vehicle or sleeping in the king size bed.
The motorhome handled the twisty roads of The Coromandel with ease — and freedom camping was excellent. Everything was provided and the appliances worked as expected. We were very surprised at how little LPG gas we actually used when freedom camping. Hot showers and a cold fridge were not an issue.
We highly recommend using Wilderness if you are thinking of exploring NZ. Since we got back home to Australia we have been planning a South Island adventure!

Like its counterpart, the Compact for 2, our Compact Plus motorhome can be driven effortlessly on many narrow, winding roads where steering longer RVs may be more challenging. The Compact Plus measures 6.7 metres long — relatively short compared to the 7.4m rental motorhomes in our fleet.
The Compact Plus will make navigating New Zealand's diverse terrain a joy — whether you've rented campervans or motorhomes before or are completely new to this kind of experience.
It won’t take you long to become more assured behind the wheel. Before long, you’ll feel like you’re handling a car when travelling between cities and passing through them.

Our Compact Plus motorhome is like the Compact for 2 — it’s easy to park. The advantages of driving an RV that’s a little simpler to park are:
Due to the shorter length of the Compact Plus, taking your motorhome between islands on the Cook Strait ferry will cost slightly less.

We did a two week trip of mostly the southwest part of the South Island in the two person compact motorhome. It was absolutely perfect for my husband and I. Large enough that we could get around and have good storage but small enough to manoeuvre and park easily.
As first-timers utilising a motorhome, we thought the functionality and ease of use of the Fiat motorhome was exceptional. The staff were extremely helpful and nice!! They checked up on us a couple of times throughout the trip and were always so happy to talk to us. Would definitely book with them again.

The Compact Plus can sleep two people in the vehicle's rear and has a combined bathroom with a swivel door separating the dry bathroom from the wet shower. These aspects, along with the open kitchen area, give the motorhome a feeling of spaciousness.
Every interior part has been designed to optimise space while ensuring comfort and convenience remain top priorities.
Great and helpful staff. The Compact Plus motorhome was very comfy and easy to live in with my son. I surely recommend Wilderness Motorhomes!

The Compact Plus offers an open kitchen area without a dividing wall between the kitchen and the bedroom. If you enjoy cooking, this space may be more appealing for creating your favourite meals.

Whether you go for the king or twin bed layout, your sleeping arrangement will be ready.
Setting up the bed and bedding every evening can become an onerous, repetitive task with some motorhome and campervan rental companies. With the Compact Plus, your bed is always ready to welcome you after a full day of adventuring.
The Compact Plus boasts a considerably larger internal garage than the Compact for 2 — easily accommodating four large suitcases. If you plan to travel with plenty of luggage, this motorhome may be your ideal option.
Fantastic experience from Wilderness. Everything was wonderful from the office staff who helped us plan our itinerary and the campervan couldn't have been better. It was clean, spacious, easy to drive and economical.
We had the Compact Plus which was very comfortable. It had everything we could have needed equipment-wise. The heating was great — no cold nights in the South Island in this camper. We have told all our friends to use Wilderness for the great service, value for money and awesome vans. Thank you very much. We will be returning customers.

Wilderness Motorhomes was AMAZING!!! We did five days of freedom camping in the beautiful South Island and the motorhome was brilliant.
It kept us cosy and warm even when it snowed in Arthur’s Pass. We had a Compact Plus and it was very spacious. The shower had good pressure. The staff at Wilderness were superb and only a phone call away — HIGHLY RECOMMEND. 💯
