Our Wilderness campervans have everything you need to travel comfortably included in the base price, with no extra charges for basics like bedding or kitchen equipment. We’ve even got you covered for making your morning coffee. Here’s what’s included in your hire:
Sheets, duvets (doonas), blankets, and pillows to keep you cosy and clothes hangers for when you unpack.
A full gas bottle, plus crockery, cutlery, cups, glasses, bowls, pots, pans, and cooking utensils. A coffee plunger and kettle will set you up for the morning. There’s also a dish cloth and brush, tea towels, dustpan and brush, and a fire extinguisher.
Bath towels (as many as you’d like), toilet paper roll, water refilling hose, and toilet chemicals.
We’ll pick you up from the airport or your Auckland or Christchurch airport hotel at the beginning of your hire and drop you off again at the end.

Wilderness really deserves all the good reviews. We really enjoyed our trip around the South Island thanks to your awesome campervans. We were newbies to campervans but turns out there's nothing to worry about at all.
We had a Compact for 2. The vehicle was in really good condition, had everything we needed, was really easy to drive (even fit into a normal parking spot) and had great heating in winter (seriously makes all the difference).
Our favourite was the handbook we were given — which answers every question you'll possibly have on how to operate the van. Sometimes I can’t get over the fact that the company would have spent so much effort making such a detailed guide like this.

Wilderness is by far the best motorhome hire company I've ever used! My husband and I hired the Compact for 2 for a ten day road trip across the South Island, and from beginning to end, they have thought through every detail of their vans and hire process.
The staff that walked us through the details of our road trip were super knowledgeable and you could genuinely tell they loved their jobs.
The office even provides a kitchen pantry to leave items at the end of your trip — and to take at the beginning of yours. This was so cool to see and stuck with me after our trip, as it helped us have a few of the essentials at the beginning and really reduces waste at the end.
